Technical assistance in the evaluation and monitoring of measures to improve the conservation of the marine environment through the collection of marine litter under the FEMPA
The CETMAR Foundation has been providing technical support to the Regional Department for the Sea (Galician Regional Government) since 2016 for the development and implementation of the Marlimpo plan. This is an execution order for technical assistance in the evaluation and monitoring of actions to improve the conservation of the marine environment through the collection of marine litter within the framework of the FEMPA.
In this context, CETMAR provides technical support for the development of the subsidy program for waste collection, including waste from seaweed washed ashore, the assessment of applications submitted, as well as the monitoring of collection activities and the preparation of reports.
The service also includes monitoring visits to supervise the waste collection activities carried out by the fishermen’s associations granted the subsidies, and technical support to raise awareness of marine litter.
